We agree, it is very unusual – but our two tennis courts are very well maintained and even equipped with floodlights! Enjoy a match of tennis during the cooler hours of the day or even in the evening. We provide tennis racquets and balls – free of charge.

On (very rare) cold evenings make yourself comfortable in front of our fireplace.

Our reading corner is ready for rummaging. Here you will find literature about Africa and especially Namibia as well as light travel literature in German and English. Should you wish to exchange a book you just finished with one you found in our library, please let us know!

Guest Internet Access Information

We’re pleased to inform you that we’ve recently activated a dedicated Paratus VSAT internet connection exclusively for our guests’ convenience. Providing reliable internet in our remote mountainous location requires significant effort and expense, and we appreciate your understanding.

To ensure fair access for everyone, each guest will receive 500 MB of complimentary data. Should you require additional data, vouchers will be available for purchase at a small fee per GB.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation — we hope this service adds to the comfort and enjoyment of your stay.

Our continental breakfast buffet includes home-baked bread and bread rolls as well as our very special muesli-mix, various jams, various types of polony and sometimes even Rooisand’s own smoked game.
Fresh farm eggs are prepared to order.

Lunch packs or light lunches are only available upon request! Please let us know a day in advance  should you arrive at Rooisand before lunchtime and wish to enjoy one of our scrumptious, freshly prepared meals.

For dinner, we offer a 3-course buffet meal comprising of a mostly national starter, a main course with various side dishes, organic meat exclusively from our own stock, fresh salads and a delectable dessert.
We kindly request that dietary preferences, restrictions and allergies are communicated well in advance.

May we proudly present: crisply baked cake ideally partnered with a steaming cup of coffee – freshly ground from Rooisand’s secret coffee bean mix.

End your day in good company at the bar, where we offer a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The extensive wine list caters for all pallets and often an unknown wine from our selection surprises even the connoisseur.

For a small fee, we happily wash, fold and iron your laundry.
